We NJ Democrats won't have him. He would lose to Cory Booker in the primary next year hands-down.

Independent is another matter.

that Romney lost.

He is from New Jersey, where you do not have to be a religious nut to be a Republican.

He is hardly a Liberal and is Right of Center.

I don't see him switching parties.

I think the Republicans are going to use Christie as an example of their "willingness" to reach across the aisle. As lame as that may be, I think they are still going to try to use it.

Christie will endear himself back into the fold before the next election. I'm not sure that he will be their candidate, but I believe he still has a very rosy future within the Republican party. After, of course, he gets a stiff talking to, and they hire him a personal trainer and a chef.

In the current mood of harmony and cooperation
But Christie is just another political whores who cozied up to Obama for the photos, to show his "independence" in preparation for his 2016 run as a REPUBLICAN. Clearly the party sees that the country is not going to elect an extremist and for all we know he was told to put on the bipartisan act by the RNC commandants.

What Sandy did to Romney, was to show the country that a state, any state, can not handle major crisis without federal help.
Most states have to balance bugets by law. The repugs like the states to control everything, education, health care, disaster relief,
infrastructure etc. They will cut your fed taxes, but your state and local taxes will skyrocket.

It is because he is up for re-election as gov next year and his reputation in NJ is as a nasty, wise cracking sob

He may not be a teabagger but he is hard core conservative, very anti-union, and he abused his position at US Attorney for political purposes in 2006 when he issued a flood of subpoenas to Menendez only days before the election (over rental of an apartment building owned by Menendez) to try to dirty him up that later resulted in no charges whatsoever or even any further investigation. He is nasty and we don't want him.

He did what he did with Obama only because he is up for re-election next year.
