Have not heard a single word from my wingnut father-in-law since the election

He and I made a bet long ago. Who ever loses has to pay for a limo to pick everyone up and go to a nice restaurant and pay.

I am almost thinking I want to drop the whole thing. Would be a miserable, miserable meal.

Anyone else avoiding nuts?

that can be disputed or criticized....like a particular Obama action. Not sure that makes sense, but it's an affirmation by the masses - not just us here. Hard to dispute it. And it's WONDERFUL that we don't have to defend it.

just the two of them for a romantic time. Show him that we left-wingers are generous, forgiving, and ready to start fresh if the other side is, too. And that hey, you're family.

Maybe?

name. They squabble all the time. If SHE says somewhere is 5 miles away, he immediately says no, it's 4.8 miles away.

Long story, but long ago, he backed out of the driveway and ran over their 2 year old boy. Very sad....but she never held it against him. That's my theory that he treats her badly (verbally, an with lack of respect) because maybe she never got extremely angry with him. And maybe he thinks she should have.

But, you are right - the winner should pay. We had it backwards

I have lost a friend over this election myself. I don't understand why people can't just disagree.

I live in a red county, in a blue state. Even when I walk into the gym, the first thing I see is Fox News.
I pretty much don't talk to anyone about politics.

I'm sorry about your FIL. It really does sound like that would be one miserable meal.

I think that's why the GOP chases dumb ideas like a fence. They know it would have no effect.

They LOVE the immigrant work force. It helps keep wages down.

But they want their cheap labor forcve to stay quiet. Not cause trouble. Self-deport, lol.

That's why they oppose quest worker programs ... wages would rise because the wages would be on the actual books.

I doubt he wants anyone to be deported. But the threat of deportation keeps that cheap work force in line.

Was major pissed off at Harry Truman for sending him to Korea, but "Bush did the right thing with Saddam."

Racist, anti-Semite, he grew up with even more vicious right-wing brothers.

He died 2 years ago August.

I think this election outcome would have killed him from a stroke.
