My Next Steps:

As a civic minded citizen, what are your next steps towards the country and planned actions towards it?

Mine are as follows:

1 - Contact as many media organizations for fair reporting and improvement of context:
||When reporting the failures of congress in passing legislation, mention what actually happened. Like how Obama has taken the positions of Republicans past, and as soon as they get it, they change the deal and ask for more.
||When they talk about how they are now open to additional forms of revenue but no tax increases, that is pretty much just lying. There are no current avenues for substantial revenue increase without increasing taxes. Democrats in Congress has let go of many of their bread and butter issues that are considered safety nets. Taking those away DO NOT create much savings, and more than likely will hurt the economy as it would put them in a worse situation.

2 - Advocate the end of the Bush tax cuts.
||Do not consider voting to extend it or extend it for a certain few.
||Allow it to Expire.
||Think about creating a different tax cut for next year instead. It is set to expire the end of this year. So instead of discussing about extending the Bush Tax cuts for a few, formulate a different set of tax structure instead. Propose a replacement, not an extension. Own it damnit. Call it the Obama tax cuts or something or another.
||Take that damn debate about the extension and change the scope. I'm just tired of their method of saying, we're not going to go for any new taxes. Let those things expire to Clinton levels already. This way, they can consider making a tax cut instead. Change the focus, change the debate, attack the challenge.

3 - Promote problem solving based on causes rather than just looking at the symptoms.
||Extoll solutions that attack a cause of a problem. An example would be to help pregnant women with their pregnancies, in regards to expanding maternity leave and medical assistance. If you make pregnancies less of an economic burden, you would limit abortion.

There are more, and I'd probably add to this, but I thought it was a decent enough starting point.
