Red Staters: How does 2012 compare to 2008?

In Georgia in 2012 46,000+ people stayed home who voted in 2008. Romney got 15,000 more votes than McCain. So, Let's say 31,000 Obama voters stayed home. Obama got 306,758 fewer votes than Romney; so we'd still need to get those 31,000 to come and vote plus convince 276,000 more people to vote DEM... It's an uphill hike. There are 440,000 undocumented residents in Georgia. Would a path to citizenship and the Dream Act eventually turn GA blue?

Georgia 2008 Presidential results

McCain 2,048,244 52.2%
Obama 1,843,452 47.0%
Bob Barr (L) 28,805
Total Votes 3,920,501

Georgia 2012 Presidential results (unofficial)

Romney 2,067,645
Obama 1,760,887
Gary Johnson (L) 45,024
Total votes 3,873,556
