California put Obama over the top in 2008 at 11 PM Eastern. Florida was still too close to call I think.

As a Floridian I care. I was there canvassing investing a lot of time and effort. Stood in a line for hours to vote. I do care. Yes the president is re-elected, but some folks do care about protecting the integrity of the voting process.

If the margin is less than .5 percent and Romney requests it, a recount is required.

According to Chuck Toad the Governor has already asked "Boston" not to make the request.

I don't see a Florida recount coming anytime soon, request or no request.

Put electroral Florida under an electron microscope. Scott is a crook, plain and simple. Let's discover ALL OF HIS DIRTY ELECTORAL TRICKS, and then hold him responsible.

Scott belongs in prison, not the Governor's Mansion.

I am sort of hoping that it is below .5% and if Romney does not request the recount Obama should.

Even without Florida, he lost. There won't be any contesting of this election. Just grumbling and whining.

Absentee ballot counting finished this morning. Now counting provisional ballots. This all has to be verified (checking signature, etc) and counted by hand. Thats whats taking so long. This is happening in Miami-Dade which voted heavily for Obama, so I think the final margin of victory will be greater than that triggering an automatic recount. Then the results can be certified. Since an Obama victory is assured, I don't know why media hasn't gone ahead and called FL for Obama. I guess we're still paying for 2000.....

So if he has even a slight lead before it's counted it's virtually assured that Obama will win.

Unless you had it reversed.

Moot since Romney camp has conceded the Florida race.
