JD Vance Waited 10 DAYS To Acknowledge Ohio Rail Disaster

Ten days after the train derailment in East Palestine, US senator JD Vance issued a statement from his office. The Ohio Republican says at one point in the statement: "Is the air and water safe for residents? So far, we have been told that air and the drinking water tests performed by the Environmental Protection Agencies, the Ohio National Guard, and Norfolk Southern have been encouraging."

You won't see them writing legislation to mitigate future disasters from man-made environmental catastrophes.

Didnt trump change some regulation that allowed this wreck?

If so hopefully ONLY trump voters were harmed and or their property.

But I have often driven through the shithole that is extreme northeast Ohio. It borders an equally shifty, shithole, Beaver County, PA.

There are more Confederate Flags than American Flags, and more Donnie Dipshit flags per capita than any other place on the face of the earth.

They voted for this shit. They voted that benevolent corporations like Norfolk and Southern didn't "need no fucking 'reg-a-lating'".

They voted for the most corrupt fucking Retrumplican supermajority rule that Ohio has ever seen, even after Retrumplicans robbed them blind to cover a private energy companies loss in another state.

and they did this for only one reason - the country dared elect a black man to the White House.

Their votes led to their poisoning.

Their votes turned their homes and land into an even worse festering cesspool of toxic waste, racism, misogyny and hatred than it was before.

Let them wallow in it.

voted for a stinking Republican in my life.
Many of us good democrats that work for our party feel so depressed that we were gerrymandered to high hell here.
Reagan ruined Ohio and so did Bush.
Trump furthered the wreckage!
I don’t want to wallow in it! Been fighting for years
and the trumpers and younger generation that are to stupid to know they have screwed themselves as well.
I’ve live here for 65 years and have spent the last 30 fighting against this shit!
Not everyone in N.E. Ohio helped turn it into a shithole!!!
I’m one of them!

As a kid born into a union home, raised to believe in compassion AND the power of education, (and residing in Florida), we blue dots in the red ocean have to suffer being lumped in within a “Shithole” area/ state.

I too, have never voted republican, and that is over 50 years of voting.

I cannot understand why ANYONE would vote against their own self interests, but so many people apparently feel compelled to have others tell them what they should think, what they should do, and they are comfortable with that.

Stereotyping an area/ community/ state is still stereotyping.

Keep fighting!

Taken from the CDC's website:

Phosgene was used extensively during World War I as a choking (pulmonary) agent. Among the chemicals used in the war, phosgene was responsible for the large majority of deaths. Phosgene is not found naturally in the environment. Phosgene is used in industry to produce many other chemicals such as pesticides.
