Could be. In Ohio, black voters turned out in higher numbers for this year's election, for example. Nothing stimulates people like telling them they can't do something, and the blatant voter suppression efforts carried out by Republicans through making it difficult for people to vote may just have backfired on them by stimulating an "Oh yeah?" response from the very voters they wanted to keep from voting.
On the other hand, things like voter ID requirements may have actually worked to a certain extent. Trouble is, the voters who didn't vote because of voter ID requirements are likely to be older "greatest generation" voters who have stopped driving and no longer have driver's licenses. Since that demographic is very likely to vote Republican, perhaps they just didn't manage the energy required to get those IDs and turn out.
A guy's gotta watch out. Sometimes shady schemes end up biting you on the ass.

(39,313 posts)The DUer Columbus Free Press -who was posting here last week said
that the information about the experimental patches came from Wikileaks.
Does anyone know the relationship between Wikileaks and Anonymous? The video came out at the same time that freepress.org got the contract that told the story about the patches.

my sense is that they had it set up to steal if it was very close .. but it wasn't!

(39,313 posts)They tried to get an injunction Nov. 6th for the patched machines
My concern about them is that they're also attempting to get attention, readers, voters since one journalist was a Green Party candidate - with these reports so I'd like to see various groups going after the fraud issue in Ohio, not just them.

(146,317 posts)software patches, for sure. Not a state probe, but federal. Since it's a Presidential election year, many federal election laws apply. The DOJ should seize the altered machines and do a thorough examination of them.
