Thank you, thank you, thank you
To each one who helped re-elect our awesome president, from the brilliant strategists and number-crunchers to those who made phone calls and knocked on doors...to the people at ACLU, NAACP and other organizations who challenged voter suppression...to our union brothers and sisters who kept the pressure on and used their strength to help all of us...to the honest journalists who told us the truth about what was being said and done so that people could make decisions based on facts instead of cynical propaganda...to each one who donated what they could, even if it was only five dollars, because a million people giving even a little can do so much...for each one who made coffee for an event or cleaned up afterward, or stuffed envelopes, or reasoned with and informed people at work or in their community who might have been undecided...for those who donated their time and energy in so many ways...to all who voted, and especially those who stood in line for several hours and would not let their rights be taken away from them...from the bottom of my heart, I thank you! The consequences of losing this election would have been almost too disturbing to contemplate.
