People who are feeling sorry for the Republicans, remember this:

They were planning on taking away your (or your parent's/grandparents) medicare and giving a voucher instead. In addition, they wanted to block grant medicaid and make it so that you are responsible for your parent's costs

They wanted to repeal the ACA and throw millions back onto the 'tender mercies' of Insurance companies, who would be free to reject people for any reason again.

They wanted to deny GLBT citizens the right to marry, the right to survivorship, the right to see their loved ones in the Hospital.

They planned on appointing regressive, "Bork-clone" Supreme Court Judges who would further destroy our Democracy and our rights

They supported cutting our already-paid-for Social Security in order to give themselves more tax breaks

They had a view of women as less important than the fetuses that they carried, and their rights were less important than a rapist's

They supported expanding our military-industrial complex at the expense of Science, Health, Education, Safety, and Infrastructure, and had a very aggressive posture towards the Middle East.

They intended to turn our foreign policy over to the very same Neocon hacks who brought us the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.

Feel free to add anything else to this list. Frankly, I'm happy as hell that they lost, and appalled that so many people voted for them. I will never feel sorry for them, however, given what they had planned for the rest of us.

Anyone who thinks we should keep "reaching across the aisle" is a moron at this point. Fuck the Republicans, they want us to consider their shitheaded ideas, they can step up and do the "reaching across."

Until then, they are exactly what they are; American fascists. I have no sympathy nor consideration for them.

If they continue to cling to their hateful and divisive ideals, they WILL get left behind.

As we learned from bad 80's horror movies, you don't hug the girl at the end of the movie, next to what you thought was the dead body of your attacker. Every last time, without fail, his hand comes up to grab your ankle and pull you down. I'll welcome GOPers to the left when they wisen up, but in the meantime, I don't trust Republicans for a second.

about their tears. They don't give a damn about anybody but themselves, so why should I feel for them?

Do any of you doubt they'd be doing the same exact thing if the tables were turned? I sure as hell don't! These are the people who call us losers, un-American, welfare queens, leeches, stupid, Socialists, Communists, etc...

So no...I do.not.care.

Nor do I have patience with Democratic friends who have made posts on Facebook over the last few days saying, "the election is over now. Let's all sing Kumbaya and get along". (That's paraphrasing what they're saying of course, but that's what they mean.)

Sing Kumbaya my ass. Get back to me on that when Republicans decide to act like human beings that aren't certifiably batshit insane. When that happens, maybe I'll reconsider. Until then, no. We need at the very least a 2 party system. However, when one of those parties is willfully crazy and an endangerment to the country, I am under no obligation to be nice to members of said party.

to implement all this ignominy and inhumanity and further screw over the 99% as lagniappe. Sheer unfathomable lunacy and idiocy run amok.

they have given themselves a permanent black eye. They literally don't know how to change with the times, so now they're a bunch of dinosaurs. For them to come up to speed, they'd have to abandon their ridiculous platform and forge something reasonable. I can't see that happening any time soon.

Sorry, Rolling Stones.

The only thought I give to the Republicans is the daydreams I have about cleaning House in Election 2014 and how much I'm going to enjoy wallowing in some more schadenfreude if we succeed.

As a 54-year-old rural white male from a hyperfundamentalist, hate-filled Red State, I could weep with joy to see the younger generations standing up and saying, "HELL NO!" to the hate and evil that has infested our society for so long.

A tip of my cowboy hat to everyone everywhere who helped reelect President Obama and all the other victorious Democrats across the country. Let's keep it going! I'd like to swim in Republican tears in 2014.
