He says that Russia is probably going to do an aviation strike on Ukraine as a last ditch effort, which if true means we better be ready to help Ukraine on that. Here is the video in question:
Although I think Ukraine will win and the Russian army isn't doing well in Ukraine, until Russia is driven out of Ukraine and their regime is thrown out, they are still a dangerous country. Yes, they may be lying about many things, but we still can't underestimate how much they may be willing to do to force Ukraine and Europe in general to be vassal states to Russia. Even the stuff they are doing now in Ukraine is not enough for some people in the Russian imperialist camp. I think this probably will be a rather long war, but that's what Russia is gambling on, that people will get tired of supporting Ukraine. I think we should have jumped on it as soon as the invasion started, but that's just my opinion. Ukraine is fighting for its survival, and we would be wise to remember that.

(945 posts)They may not be doing well in Ukraine, but the people ordering them are still dangerous. I am not sure we have seen the worst that Russia could do. As I said, there are people in the imperialist camp who think Putin isn't doing enough to Ukraine and the West in general. NATO better be aware of it. Also, what people forget is that there is an exclave of Russia between Poland and Lithuania called Kaliningrad Oblast. If Russia wanted to, they could attack from there. While there has not been any evidence of anything happening there, we have to keep that in mind.

(945 posts)But again, we can't keep kicking the can down the road and think things will change. Georgia in fact was the first post-Soviet state to deal with Russia, and Georgia is much smaller than Ukraine, just slightly larger than West Virginia or just over 1/10 the area of Ukraine. So it is not just Ukraine that has to worry about Russia. Georgia may be mountainous, but it's mostly in the northern parts and to a smaller extent the southern parts, and unlike Ukraine, Georgia doesn't really have that much area to get around.

(16,341 posts)Other Baltic countries will be rethinking their situations, too, I bet

(945 posts)The Baltic States are probably one of the most vulnerable to Russia. They are very small countries, about the same as or even smaller than Georgia by area. While they are not the most populated countries in Europe, with Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia each having 1.88 million, 2.8 million, and 1.33 million people respectively (Georgia [country] has 3.71 million people), they are very weary of Russia, and knows their intent. So Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and the Baltic States are all vulnerable to Russia and their puppet Belarus.

(945 posts)You often can learn about a given country just by finding and/or talking to people from there rather than just finding it out in the news. That's how I learned a lot of stuff out in the world.

Not often either, but ALWAYS.

(945 posts)Especially when news and others get put together. But sometimes the news media does influence their thinking, so you really can't tell if that is what is actually going on in that part of the world, especially in volatile areas.
