was a rock-solid conservative. He despised President Carter. However years later after the Carter years, he expressed admiration for his diplomacy, peace efforts and morals.
Dad served in Navy, spending 4 months at Naval Academy 43/44 (V-12 program). He knew of Carter but never really met him. Dad was overseas 44-46 seeing combat with the 7th Fleet.
I voted for Carter in 76, my 1st presidential vote.
