Georgia woman fired over Facebook post referring to Obama as the 'N-word'

Once President Obama's election was secured Tuesday night, many people expressed their joy or frustration on social media.

One Facebook post quickly went viral Wednesday morning, after the poster made statements about the president, referring to him using the "N-word," followed by "God Bless the USA!"

After someone apparently admonished the woman making the original posting, she referred to the other person using the "N-word" as well.

Several emails to 11Alive News expressed concern about the posts, because the woman making the offensive statements apparently worked for a family medical practice in Statesboro. One email to 11Alive asked, "Are African Americans safe at this office? Does this young lady care for African Americans as she does all patients?"

It is amazing though that one of her friends exposed her.

are quick to post the first thing that pops into their pea size brains. Sometimes, it's better to hold your fire and think it over before you post without a moment to reflect on just who might see what you wrote. We can't say it too many times: Stuff you post on FB is not anonymous. Sometimes it comes back to haunt you and don't think that just because you're young, it won't be held against you. Get a clue and a life.

at how people just shoot their mouths off all over FB, thinking there will be no repercussions. My sister lost a job over talking trash on her FB account, even after we repeatedly warned her that she shouldn't do it. She kept barking back about freedom of speech, yadda yadda yadda, and I kept telling her (to no avail), freedom of speech DOESN'T MEAN FREEDOM FROM CONSEQUENCES. Why do people not grasp this concept?

Hey, at least her racism and ugliness is wide out in the open now, and the people around her know exactly what kind of person she is.

my decision is pretty much to avoid Facebook at all costs. I'm trying to attract customers not run them off by saying obnoxious things there.

Which is another reason I love DU so much!!
