Northeast US: Tens of Thousands Left to Freeze in Public Housing. But Goldman Sachs has power.


Between Hurricane Sandy and the below-freezing temperatures, tens of thousands of public housing residents across the northeast have been left to freeze, as state housing authorities scramble to repair damaged or faulty infrastructure.

In New York City, more than 20,000 residents across 114 buildings are still living without electricity, heat and, in some cases, even running water since last week’s Hurricane Sandy devastated coastal areas of New York and New Jersey.

I was at the W Times Square (I know, I know...) during the blackout 5 or 6 years ago and it lost power for maybe 5 minutes until the generators kicked in.

It was the only hotel around that had power.

after Sandy, with notes saying "I have power; please feel free to charge your phones."

In proportion, the moneyfuckers could extend a psuedopod of assistance of some sort, any sort. NOT....

cold in taxpayer housing while the people who are stealing opportunity from the nation, who have taken $16 trillion in taxpayer money and are getting $40+ billion dollars a month in taxpayer money to make sure their assets don't lose value while millions of taxpayers are facing foreclosure, who directly or indirectly increased the numbers of those in poverty, on food stamps, and the working poor, are kept warm and toasty.

Oh yeah - in addition to being crooks and thieves, the motherfuckers in the financial district don't add anything for the money they steal.
