BOSTON -- From the moment Mitt Romney stepped off stage Tuesday night, having just delivered a brief concession speech he wrote only that evening, the massive infrastructure surrounding his campaign quickly began to disassemble itself.

Aides taking cabs home late that night got rude awakenings when they found the credit cards linked to the campaign no longer worked.

Ann Romney's remarks brought several staffers to tears as she told the assembled group that they would always be part of the fabric of the Romney family.

Oh that's rich. Almost as rich as the Romneys. You and I know damn well should any of them show up at the gates of one of the Romney compounds, she'd call the guards.

It's dry season for campaign operatives though, and a few aides said they expect it to be January before they're re-employed. Some said they would be quitting politics, at least for now.

Aww. I guess they'll have to take to the Internet to claim (truthfully, for once) that Barack Obama put them out of a job!!

1. Those aides will never be able to list "Romney Campaign" as work experience.

They'll have to claim to have been in Rehab or minimum security jail.

4. Weren't there reports about Romneyland falling apart before the end?

There was the question as to whether Ryan and Romney were calling each other names like "Stench" and "Gilligan". And Romney's campaign co-chairman Pawlenty suddenly resigned to take another job, with just a few weeks left before the election. And there was obviously some bad history with Chris Christie.

I'm sure we'll get a few laughs from the books that will be written from behind the scenes.
