I have no idea who presented it or where. I copied/borrowed the image from reddit for DU cause I like to share.

A: After they decide to run for Governor of California
Q: Why should Creationism be taught in schools?
A: Because it leaves less time to teach Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer
Q: Why did Elizabeth Dole consider running for the Senate?
A: To get away from Bob and his little blue pills!

(2,163 posts)I see no difference when the republicans made a joke about putting President Obama's face on the new food stamp cards.

For example, Even though this is funny- someone Might be offended somewhere-
14. A woman has twins, and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named 'Amal.' The other goes to a family in Spain, they name him Juan'. Years later; Juan sends a picture of himself to his mum. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wished she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responds, ''But they are twins. If you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal.''

(5,465 posts)And, after the threats toward changing SCOTUS and doing away with Roe and...
Pushing "self-deportation"
Medicare vouchers
Raising taxes on the middle class; tax cuts for the rich
Undoing Wall Street, finance and banking regulations
Immigration laws (See Brewer, Jan +AZ)
Denying "climate change" (I still prefer the term global warming)
Fracking
DOMA + Marriage equality
Citizens United
WARS with Iran and Pakistan
Trade wars with China
Increasing military spending
De funding Planned Parenthood
Ending the EPA
Ending Public School and pushing charter/homeschooling (low-info voters of the future)
Stripping Union rights
And I am certain there is MUCH MORE I forgot to list....
After all THAT... I think I am allowed this sweet, delectable, juicy taste of
Schadenfreude
However, I do appreciate the response and kick.
**Edited to add: And the food Stamps!! Don't forget who coined the term "Food Stamp President"!!
Schadenfreude indeed, and I am loving it!!

(12,008 posts)he said something like he was "declaring war on the pentagon." I know he used a variation of that language. When the pentagon was actually attacked, you'd think he'd be scrambling to apologize... *sigh* but of course not. It was simply never mentioned by the media again.

(719 posts)and the boss himself are staunchly anti-Obama. She brought a cake in to the office staff that I wish I'd taken a picture of. A simple chocolate cake with lots of icing and cherries on top, and the words "We Will Survive" in bold white letters.
Something inside me just wouldn't allow me to eat any of it.
No doubt the boss would have asked me "Why aren't you having any cake?" if he hadn't been off hunting in Montana all week. Nothing like killing a few animals to make you feel better about losing an election.
Melinda
(5,465 posts)I can't imagine being in your shoes! I'd probably have asked her to sing a few bars, ala Gloria Gaynor, or asked her if she'd meant to buy a 'chocolate' cake - and lost my job in the process!!

(26,622 posts)She supported W and McCain when I worked for her. I remember how happy and excited she was when McCain picked Palin.. I was too, but for a different reason (I knew he picked a loser.) Now I'm retired and she's my ex boss. We're still friends, but don't talk politics. Since I'm receiving Social Security and, now, Medicare, I guess President Obama is my boss now. Thank God, because the other guy would have fired me!
I love this cake, but not the "food stamp" reference, I think it feeds the crazies. Let's concentrate on real solutions like raising the minimum wage and universal health care so working people will no longer need food stamps to survive! My suggestion for the caption is "we all built it!"

(17,656 posts)The Governor of Idaho, Butch Otter, was being interviewed on tv on election night.
Just after NBC had called the state of Ohio for President Obama.
Just to let you know what a frickin', king-sized super-dee-duper moron our Governor is, the news woman that he was talking with asked him what it would mean to Idaho, now that it seemed that President Obama had been re-elected.
The interview took place only about 5 minutes after they had called the state of Ohio for President Obama.
But, the Governor is such a ginormous moron, a frickin' lunatic, he just looked at her and said, "Well, NBC has been wrong before."
But NBC wasn't the only network to call Ohio for President Obama. In fact, Faux Snooze and CNN had already called Ohio by then.
Then the Governor went on to say that people should vote for Romney because he is so good at creating jobs, and he is such a great businessman, blah, blah, blah.
But, by then, it was over.
President Obama had won Ohio, he had been re-elected!!
And I thought, Jesus Sesame, this Governor is an idiot!
He might as well be sucking on the dick of a dead bull elephant!
And then I realized . . he was!!
Melinda
(5,465 posts)And now I know exactly how that cake should be decorated too, LOL!!!! Thanks a BUNCH for THAT!!

(4,835 posts)In 1978. I think he was running for governor then.
I think people were smarter then. I'm pretty sure he lost. It seems that it was pointed out that he's J.R. Simplot's son in law.
He may have been running for a different office (it was after all; a long time ago), but back then, it seems, politicians tied to big money was viewed as a bad thing.
Isn't J.R. Simplot the 'Idaho Potato' giant?

(15,882 posts)maybe several days. But they won't have it 'cause it's being eaten in an office as a joke. Well, maybe they can find something at an Emergency Room.
Damn, that cake's a side-splitter. I am assuming this was paid for as a"joke" out of pocket, but I honestly would have had trouble enjoying it.

(93 posts)Because some 47%er used job-creator tax dollars to buy a cake. So the cake proves what the conservative feared all along...No?
I dont find it funny.
After seeing some of the things folks get juried for I cant believe this didnt get someone banned.
I guess a person's intent is revealed by their post count.
But I would have thought I would be banned for such a post. I never would have dared.

(2,957 posts)But, when you think about it, this could have been created by a Republican as a right-wing jab, too. We really don't know the actual source and political orientation of the one who supplied the cake. I can see this as an insult, too, if made by a Repub.
