I'm no fan of any war. WTF is the Kremlin talking about? They started the war, are getting their asses kicked and are now crying? Russia has been murdering Ukrainian civilians so if the gloves are off tough shit. Does Russia want rules now? Damn monsters.

and quite a few Russians who have Ukrainian family and friends.

It's not inconceivable that some of these would be motivated to take direct action against the Russian war machine.
