We have a new black hero that De Santis can ignore in history lessons.

Colonel Paris Davis served heroically in Vietnam, saving the lives of his troops and getting injured in the process. But afterwards the powers that be said they lost his papers.

That horrible slight is going to be remedied this week. But, we can count on De Santis to continue the racist oversight in Florida.

The long wait is over: Vietnam veteran to receive Medal of Honor
WASHINGTON — The White House announced retired Army Col. Paris Davis will receive the Medal of Honor for his acts of bravery as a commander during the Vietnam War.

President Joe Biden will present the award to Davis during a ceremony at the White House Friday.

Davis commanded American Special Forces as well as an inexperienced South Vietnamese company against a large North Vietnamese force June 17-18, 1965. His tactical leadership allowed the company to gain an advantage and surprise the enemy.

Davis was wounded in the initial assault, but he continued to push forward, killing several enemy soldiers.

Davis was nominated for the Medal of Honor in 1965; however, the Army lost the nomination. In 1969 an inquiry was ordered and it found no record of the original nomination. The nomination was resubmitted and lost again. It has been suggested that racism was a factor, given that Davis is African-American.[1][5]

In January 2021 then Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller ordered an expedited review of the lost nomination, to be completed by March 2021.[1][6] In an early June 2021 editorial Miller wrote that the military bureaucracy was again stalling the review and urged President Joe Biden to award Davis the Medal of Honor.[7] In late November 2022 it was reported that the nomination had been approved by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley in early November and was awaiting approval by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.[8][9] On 14 February 2023, it was confirmed that Davis would finally receive the Medal of Honor.[10]

for their outstanding service. And completely mind blowing how De Santis is writing it into law.

He's the racist that came in under the radar.

Finally, and thank gawd he’s still alive to accept it and not receiving posthumously.
