Pay for cable or satellite TV? Youre subsidizing Fox News whether you watch it or not.
Your cable or satellite TV provider pays a subscriber fee to carry Fox News. That cost is passed directly on to YOU.
Every network charges cable and satellite providers a small fee per subscriber; the one for Fox News is extraordinarily high. A typical household pays Fox News almost $2 per monthabout $20 per year via their cable or satellite provider, regardless of whether they actually watch the channel.
In 2023, a wave of big contracts between Fox News and TV providers for subscriber fees are set to expire. These contracts make up a major source of Fox News subscriber fee revenue. If we want to stop paying the "Fox fee," now is the time to act.

(38,349 posts)We read all our news, have a large collection of DVDs that we've mostly found in thrift stores, and usually subscribe to just two or three commercial-free streaming services at any one time. We're currently paying about $25 a month for those. I like to keep it under $35.
When we first "cut the cord" we didn't have any streaming. One of our kids set us up with Netflix.
Our television isn't connected to an antenna and isn't even programmed to receive broadcast television.

Whomever is sponsoring this is at best, sending a list of invalidated names to the cable company, and at worst is harvesting email addresses for fundraising. If you want to demand that your cable company drop Fox, call or write directly.

They're asking for your first name, last name, zip code, email address, and cable provider. And, the only thing you get in return is that they will pass your concerns on to your cable provider. Which is something we can do ourselves (with less effort), by just e-mailing our cable providers directly.

(2,574 posts)in the late 90's. It was Bill O'Reilly. I asked my friend, "How the f**k can you stand to watch this fascist Bulls**t?
Sadly, decades of watching Fox has turned him into a hopeless, babbling, psychotic Qnut worshiper of the MAGAt king, who has lost all of his old friends
Please, don't ever watch Fox. Do not support this fascist propaganda organization that has turned so many of our fellow citizens into jabbering psychos, and is dedicated to destroying our democracy.
