Jan. 6 rioter accused of attacking Officer Michael Fanone and stealing his badge pleads guilty

A New York man pleaded guilty Friday to charges in connection with the Jan. 6 assault on now-former Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone during the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Thomas F. Sibick of Buffalo pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting or impeding an officer and two counts of theft in a federal court hearing in Washington, D.C. He's the third person to be convicted of assaulting Fanone, who prosecutors said "suffered significant and painful injuries" during the insurrection.

Of course we are just throwing out the numbers! Wasn't it the name of the game from the start? Beastly Boy Mar 2023 #6

When you say "and counting", you admit you don't have a specific count. Beastly Boy Mar 2023 #10
The count continues to change every month, that is why and the "counting". republianmushroom Mar 2023 #11

But just because you are suddenly curious about the meaning of the numbers, let me indulge you: that's half of maximum sentence allowed by the statute.

Unless the remark is facetious, as it is in my case. Then it is understood to be a mockery of those who count something that is arbitrary by definition and is therefore devoid of any specificity.

The plea agreement, on the other hand, is very specific: "In the plea agreement, prosecutors said sentencing guidelines call for between 33 and 41 months in prison. Sibick is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Amy Berman Jackson on July 28."

No less than 33 months and no more than 44 months. To be determined on July 28, 2023. By the judge.

Don't be sorry for me, I am pretty specific. Be sorry for you.

As long as your count changes, it is not specific. It may be predictable, but that's a whole different peeve of mine.
