"D"'s after their name. But, today's crop of Republicans contains many for whom "disgusting" hardly suffices. "Nauseating" comes close, but still doesn't quite convey the emotions some of them trigger.

Kari Lake, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan and Andy Biggs are just a few of the noxious screamers and whiners whose very names, when I speak them, make me feel like using a strong mouthwash several times.

a brokered convention to pick another candidate but they realized that they couldn't win without Trump because he was so wildly popular with the 80% of the Republican base who are authoritarians. So the corporate Republicans put party before country and went with the authoritarian, even knowing that they were putting democracy in the US on life support because authoritarians are not committed to democracy. It was very telling that some Republican leaders like the Bushes, Cheneys, Romney refused to support Trump even though he was the Republican candidate. The Republicans absolutely knew or had reason to know what they were doing to democracy in the US. Now, for the foreseeable future, the US has one party which seeks to end any real pretense of democracy and maintain permanent control and on the other side anyone who will stand up for democracy.
