It has happened in pretty much all of the "First World" countries around the world.

My high school Earth Science teacher said something that stuck with me. He was afraid that science would crack the aging code and enable dramatically longer lifespans. I fear that as well and would be against that, but incremental increases to the average life expectancy are fine.

...we're definitely going to need to replace a lot of workers with computers and robots to survive the human population reduction this planet desperately needs. There won't be enough young workers to support the aging population.
