REQUIRED to notify the state.
So, if someone pays me five bucks to spray paint "DeSantis is a fascist asshole!" on an overpass, do I give notice of my artistic effort?
Further, are the authors of political bumperstickers that mention DeSantis subject to this directive from Herr DeSantis?

(3,356 posts)Banning books, talking about prosecuting doctors, firing professors, eliminating entire departments in universities, alienating the largest employer...
Now bloggers and reporters have to get, what, licensed?
When do they get the slightest notion that all this is kind of ... out of control? Not to mention what a fascist would do?
I'm also really amazed that the governor has this level of power. Is the FL governership really that powerful? In most states, for example, a govenror couldn't fire or hire a university president-- there's a board of regents or directors set up by the legislature, right?
It sounds like, within the state, he's got far more power than anyone else. Is there no state constitution with "freedom of the press"? No laws about how universities do their staffing?

(3,356 posts)They say "freedom of press" is the most important value they have... but they love DeSantis. I said, "But he's banning books! He wants to enforce lists of reporters!" and they ignore it. They just, you know, put their fingers in their ears figuratively.
