Mint a bunch of them if you have to.
I don't care how crazy this idea is considered by some people. It's better than allowing even the slightest doubt about the full faith and credit of the United States to brew.
This should be done well before any debt default deadlines are looming, well before any serious pressure is looming.
You think it won't work? You think it won't hold up if challenged in court?
Why the fuck would that matter? Why be afraid?
We can't even prosecute a fucking insurrectionist President in under two years time. Save the goddamned economy now, shut down the hostage-taking tactics, and then we've probably got at least three years to get rid of these Republican terrorists and fix the debt ceiling the normal way well before any court is going to possibly, just possibly, undo the coin trick.
And anyway, there's a winner of a case to take to court! Please, judge, please! Please throw the world into economic chaos, it's the right thing to do!

(21,643 posts)There's no doubt whatsoever that if the shoe were on the other foot, Republicans would be cranking them out in a snap.
Not that it would be on the other foot, as Dems would never jeopardize the full faith and credit of the United States - least of all to wage scorched-earth warfare on the opposition.
Republicans have become a fifth column, and should never be allowed to have the last word on anything nearly this important. Not if it can at all be helped.

(4,733 posts)enter an injunction - just like they have done with the student loan relief proposal. A matter of days or weeks till an injunction would most likely be entered. It would take months or even years for the final outcome but that would not stop an injunction pending judicial review.
