The reality of Desantis' refusal to bow to the "oppressive biomedical security state"

He is proud of his opposition to anti-covid measure such as masking and vaccination. What are the results of his "freedom worth fighting for"

Let's compare Covid death rates in Desantis' paradise of freedom, Florida, with those in California, which imposed medically necessary anti-pandemic measures. Both are large diverse states where enforcing any sort of public health measures is difficult. Both have large numbers of vulnerable populations that sufered the brunt of Covid. We are not comparing two entirely different states. We are not comparing Vermont and Mississippi.

All data is from from https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ :

Florida's death rate from Covid : 4,018 per million population, rank is #12
California's death rate from Covid: 2,561 per million population, rank is #41

Total deaths from Covid in Florida are 86,294

If Florida had California's death rate, there would have been 21.477737 population in millions times 2561 rate = 54,985 deaths instead

So DeSantis' "refusal to bow to the oppressive biomedical security state” resulted in 86,294 - 54,985 = 31,309 more dead Florida residents

And Desantis is proud to have let over 30,000 people die? And he calls this freedom?

DeSatan roaming the USA stating that COVID - pandemic was no "big" deal. The man cares nothing about the sanctity of life. He lies like the rest of them.

An"oppressive biomedical security state?" Sheesh. I'd like to see his ass oppressed. Ron DeSantis wouldn't recognize real oppression if it stood on his neck. He is a master of deliberate disinformation.

than the official records account for. Many people who died during the pandemic were classified according to the specific form of organ or system failure rather than that it was brought on by COVID. No one knows how many COVID deaths were disguised this way.

It was done at the specific orders of the Governor and it persisted throughout the 2 years of the pandemic. It is as horribly dishonest as when concentration camp internees were said to have died from common garden varieties of disease when the fact was they died because they were worked to death in appalling conditions and starvation.

DeSantis is every bit responsible for most of these deaths whether recorded or obscured.

Great post. I wonder what South Carolina's rating is under Governor McDisaster? I can't imagine that it's very good. Dems really need to fight these red state governors with the statistics. They all have blood on their hands. We sure as hell don't need any of them as President of the United States.

15. This was the plan

He attempts to confuse with various blather about 'freedom', but the plan was to let it rip. It ripped right through the red sectors all over the state. People were dying on the floors of waiting rooms for the regeneron monoclonal treatments. They died waiting for an injection of the transgenic rat pancreas antibodies they would have already had, if they had taken the vax. They generally waited far too long and were far too sick for the treatment to actually be useful. The antibodies were useful to keep the infection in your nose and prevent it from damaging your lungs. Once the infection settled into the lungs, the treatment would do little to prevent organ damage leading to death.

In a sense however, the plan worked. Omicron never really got a good grip here, simply because the most vulnerable of the unvaccinated here were already dead from Delta. Those who survived Delta generally got vaccinated and were very protected.
