(58,785 posts)over the past 30 years. Boebert is living her values. She's also still young enough to pop out at least a couple more white babies herself.
So a 77% decline in teen births sounds very significant. What else did your research find?
We did find that a generation ago teen childbearing was much more normative than it is now. In 1991, an estimated one-quarter of all 15-year-olds were to have a birth before they reached age 20. And this declined to 6% in 2021, which is dramatic, and as you said, more than 75% decline. We also find the declines happened among all race/ethnic groups, among younger and older teens, and across all states. And the declines have been sustained and even accelerated recently.
Btw, I think those pro-abortion activists staging the die-in in Florida should consider "live-ins" -- like one featuring working while raising grandchildren as a second go at the overworked, angst-filled "having it all" years. Retirement as another version of "having it all" (who needs friends their age, or their friends' "extra" money if they're home all the time anyway?) Maybe a prison-in featuring delightful trips with the children to visit mommy. Placards informing of the average cost of childcare per month ($800 basement and up, up, up).
Lots of inspiring thoughts for mommy, daddy, a couple sets of grandmothers and grandfathers.

(453 posts)She cannot legally consent at 15. She is a statutory rape victim. He should be prosecuted, but then there is one less caregiver.

(15,519 posts)There is a clause n Colorado (and almost every state). If one is a minor and the other one is less than 10 years older, it's legal. They are one year apart.
Almost every state has this exemption, although most have it about 5 years between the ages. That's a good thing, otherwise you would have 17 year olds serving time for being with 16 year olds.

Or won't.
Makes sense for someone who just can't shut her mouth long enough to hear anything but her own voice.
