Two GOP lawmakers suggest the conversation of raising the retirement age 'has to be on the table': r

Two Republican lawmakers asserted the retirement age should be raised during Sunday morning interviews, Rolling Stone reports.

This comes as GOP members continue to insist they will keep their hands off of Social Security, since President Joe Biden called them out during his2023 State of the Union address for attempts to make cuts to the social program.

The Recount tweeted, "'For people who are in their 20s, their life expectancy will probably be 85 to 90. Does it really make sense to allow someone who's in their 20s today to retire at 62?' — Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) on why we should talk about changes to Social Security and Medicare."

Furthermore, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), in a Sunday interview with CNN, asserted the conversation of raising the retirement age must be discussed.

you need for Medicare and full Social Security.

It's 65 and for someone in their 20s SS will be 67.

So Sen Kennedy, you are only 72, why don't you take you broke down body and stand on an assembly line or pick up garbage all day.

Have longer lives than a man in the US.

"A male child born in the United States today will live to be 74.5 years old on average. This puts the male citizens of the US in 47th place in this ranking. On average, US women are 5.7 years older, reaching an age of 80.2. The world average age of death is a few years lower at 69.8 years for men and 74.9 years for women. Within the European Union, these are 77.8 and 83.3 years respectively."

Shitty capitalist health care leads to shorter life spans. Makes sense.

Pension to match Social Security?

They get their retirement at.....62.....not the 67 they have forced on us. And now they still want theirs at 62, while making ours 70.

Something's wrong with this picture.

Or a plumber, carpenter, roofer, electrician, garbage hauler, mechanic, nurse, daycare worker, grocery stocker, etc etc etc. Any of a thousand critical tasks that people destroy their bodies working for decades…

Make these motherfuckers actually experience the crushing physical work of a manual laborer… at 72 years old looking-at-you-Sen-Kennedy… and come back on tv and say that again.

Until then stfu
