A bank is a regulation. Deregulation makes no sense.

This is a simplification, but you and I can't get an appraisal on our property and then loan money on that basis. Not directly and not without a lot of other hands in your pockets and a lot of laws watching. You and I can't get money from the Fed at Fed rates. There are financial powers that banks have that you and I as citizens do not have. It just makes sense that with extraordinary powers come extraordinary responsibility.

When you hear someone for deregulating banks, think of it as letting someone with rights you don't have being allowed to get away with things that you would go straight to prison for if you did anything like.

Oh, yeah, and of course the person being allowed do this stuff has more money than you will ever see.

When you hear "deregulation," think, "bought."
