(51,308 posts)I have seen NOWHERE that President Carter has requested this, other than President Biden saying so, which he said he did accidentally.
This OP is a bit misleading unless I've missed some other news.

(9,069 posts)ATLANTA (AP) President Joe Biden says he plans to deliver the eulogy at the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, who remains under hospice care at his home in south Georgia.
Biden told donors at a California fundraiser Monday evening about his recent visit to see the 39th president, whom he has known since he was a young Delaware senator supporting Carters 1976 presidential campaign.
He asked me to do his eulogy, Biden said, before stopping himself from saying more. Excuse me, I shouldnt say that.
Carter, who at 98 is the longest-lived U.S. president, announced Feb. 18 that he would spend his remaining days at home receiving end-of-life care, forgoing further medical intervention after a series of short hospital stays. The Carter Center in Atlanta and the former presidents family members have not disclosed details of his condition, though Biden alluded to Carters 2015 cancer diagnosis and subsequent recovery.

(7,866 posts)Given the era of misinformation and disinformation we live in, it makes sense to cite credible sources for claims such as these rather than just some random person from Twitter who didn't cite any sources either.

(15,220 posts)It was a mistake for Biden to have said that. He realized, but it was too late.

Naturally, I hope it's not for a while, but President Joe Biden is absolutely 100% the right person for this!

(51,308 posts)Seriously?
Number one, President Carter is NOT dead.
Number two, President Biden should not have said that, as he himself admitted. That was not discreet.
Number three, nothing is "precious' about a death of an admirable man.
Number four, "precious" is best reserved for puppies, kittens, babies, artwork, and jewels.

(51,308 posts)OK, lol.
I love mysterious posts.
Anyway, just no. President Carter is not "precious" like a little child, or a gem. He was a good president, and I believe history will show this. Sorry, not sorry.
I met him once on a Habitat site. He is a great man, but not "precious". I imagine he'd fall over laughing at that description.
Woof!
