"A lot's gonna come out sooner or later," one Ga. grand juror said. "And it's gonna be massive"

Tamar Hallerman @TamarHallerman
EXCLUSIVE: @ajccourts and I sat down with five of the Fulton County special grand jurors, who gave us a detailed, behind the scenes look at their eight months of service https://ajc.com/politics/exclusive-behind-the-scenes-of-the-trump-grand-jury/6CXLKTFMKNDU7O6TER4B7UTZPE/
#gapol

In an exclusive interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, five of the 23 special grand jurors recounted what it was like to be a pivotal — but anonymous — part of one of the most momentous criminal investigations in U.S. history; one which could lead to indictments of former President Donald Trump and his allies.

One juror expressed appreciation for the behind-the-scenes look the group received of Georgia politics and the ballot-counting process. Another indicated he had grown more jaded after it became clear that some witnesses were telling the grand jury one thing about the election under oath and then casting doubt on the system when they returned to the campaign trail, sometimes hours later.

“I can honestly give a damn of whoever goes to jail, you know, like personally,” one juror said. “I care more about there being more respect in the system for the work that people do to make sure elections are free and fair.”

...and sits for 2 months.

They are now being presented with what Fani Willis wants them to decide. It's not likely to be an entirely new round of witness presentations. She can take most of what the special gj did and present that product to the jurors, and jurors can request witnesses come in and stand before them and answer questions, as well.

The lead juror in the special grand jury told us they recommended over an dozen indictments.

The lead juror also told us they heard multiple recordings of Trump.

When people like this tell us something, we should listen and believe them.

...this is an unprecedented view into the grand jury process, though, which should give at least some comfort that justice is being pursued.

What I'd like folks who are anxious to take away from this is an understanding that this is a deliberative process involving multi-dozens of witnesses and over a dozen perps.

It's also a process of law that is often slowed by the rights afforded the accused, something to consider as the government works to hold people accountable. This grand jury process is subject to challenges to evidence and claims of privilege which require court hearings with court dates set by judges, often set months in the future at the behest of the defense.

Hopefully most of those kinks were ironed out in the special grand jury, and as expected, the process of indictments begins soon.

Willing to admit that up front, that said, 40 years of history supports my opinion that, in the end, the most that will come of this is a small fine and strongly worded admonishment of tfg behavior.
Likely nothing at all. It's not an unsupported opinion.
This guy has very literally been commiting crimes of one kind or another for 40+ years with absolutely zero consequences.

In the last days of his election in 2016, he was in court for a fraudulent school and all kinds of other nonsense. No criminal charges were ever filed
Nothing.

He stands accused of sexually assaulting 20+ women, including a child. Nothing.

He has 5 kids by three different women and cheated on all his wives, multiple times. He cut off his own brother 's healthcare when he was dying.
And Republicans call him a godly man. A family man.

Despite a horrible and bitter campaign and 4 years of complete and total shit, in 2020 he got more votes than any Republican presidential candidate in history. I mean he got more than Obama did in 2008.

Despite historical loses in Congress and a failed one term presidency, he is the leading Republican candidate in 2024.

I truly hope I'm wrong but history says this guy will never see the inside of a prison cell. I don't understand it. It makes no sense. It's just the word we live in.

On J6 Trump moved to the major leagues when it comes to crimes. For most of his life as a corrupt businessman he did a lot of petty crimes compared to what he has done now. He had an army of lawyers who got him out of shit. He had money to settle things. None of that will work now.

While he was president and committing crimes, He had the presidency and corrupt AG that protected him. He has none of that now.

Looking back at the history of Trump and how he got away with shit, is not relevant to what he is facing now. This is completely different.

What is massive to them (which it should be to everyone) may be what people who follow politics more closely already, mostly know.

If there are some massive revelations (besides the new tape recording), that would be interesting to learn about for sure.

If there was audiotape of Trump threatening to have Georgia election officials assassinated if they won't overturn election results, the Magats would believe Trump when he says nothing was wrong with his "perfect" call.

Then Gym Jordan would start an investigation of the Georgia officials, insinuating they're connected to Hunter Biden's laptop.
