DA wants judge to order Pa. county to accept his nominating petitions for reelection
SUNBURY The two-term district attorney of Northumberland County is seeking a court order to get his name on the May primary ballot as a Republican candidate for reelection.
Tony Matulewicz of Mount Carmel Tuesday asked county court to order his nominating petitions be accepted and if there is not an immediate decision to issue an injunction requiring his name appear on the ballot.
The Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts had been asked to assign an out-of-county judge to the case, court administrator Kevin OHearn said Wednesday.
Matulewicz missed the 4:30 p.m. March 7 deadline to file his petitions and notarized signed affidavit.
They were submitted at 5:01 p.m. and were accepted as a courtesy pending review and a check the applicable code.
