More crazy weather in Southern California and Nevada!

Another storm came ashore this morning dumping heavy rain throughout the LA areas! Flooding rain and high elevation snow is to last thru Thursday. I am in Mesquite NV and it has been raining since I got here last night!

Hope everyone stays safe and be aware of flooded roads and possible mudslides!

Dangerous conditions for people, but this is the most drought busting Winter that part of the country has ever had. They said one season wouldn't bust the drought, the weather said, "challenge accepted."

https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?CA

The numbers are remarkable from 6 months ago.

D4 Exceptional Drought from 17% to 0%
D3 Extreme Drought from 41% to 0%
D2 Severe Drought from from 94% to 8.5%
D1 Moderate Drought from 100% to 36%
D0 Abnormally Dry from 100% to 55%

And what's more is that the snow pack in the mountains has been way above average and this will take several months to melt slowly feeding the rivers and streams that fill the reservoirs and ground water. So these numbers are going to continue to fall. And the snow and rain went to the Rockies too and Lake Mead and Powell are seeing some relief too.
