In L.A. our work let parents bring their kids to work

They took a tour and after they left our area one of the women I work with said she feels like striking now.

Especially if it's not a location that makes something or where there's a lot of machinery or instruments that can be set up in a test mode that can do something obvious or otherwise produces a tangible result.
Office visits are the worst, kids younger than 12 are bored and older than 12 spend all their time on their phones if they can.
