Alvin Bragg Rips House GOP Chairs After Additional Inquiries Into Trump Case

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/alvin-bragg-rips-house-gop-chairs-after-additional-inquiries-into-trump-case/ar-AA195lbx?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=a848cac4c65e4229be6fdb06f4e28084&ei=37

Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg slammed top House Republicans mere hours after the lawmakers’ efforts to double down with its inquires into former President Donald Trump’s hush money case.

Bragg, who slammed the GOP leaders’ “unprecedented inquiry” in a letter earlier this week, took on a second co-authored letter about the case from Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), James Comer (R-Ky.) and Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) – three officials who lead the House Judiciary, Oversight and Administration committees, respectively.

Bragg, in his response on Saturday, asserted that his office evaluates cases “based on facts, the law and the evidence.”

“It is not appropriate for Congress to interfere with pending local investigations,” Bragg wrote.

I'm really liking how DA Bragg is firing right back at these MAGAt's telling them they have no business, nor jurisdiction, over his investigation.

Or at least the defense may have been able to use that tack.

I'm 110% behind anyone who will *controversialize the outrageous behaviors of these MAGAT's in congress. With enough evidence one could build a case for obstruction against these clowns which might finally eliminate them. Their every reaction to Bragg's verbiage incriminates them further. They're proving stupid enough to just keep on walking up the crumb trail into indictability.

Weimar would, perhaps, not have fallen were it enforcing its own laws.

* todays invented word. controversialize: to intentionally make newsworthy so that the general public is saturated to a point where it would be interested enough to actually give a shit and take a side for or against. Sort of "trivialize"'s more invasive cousin.

Cy Vance was looking at retirement. (There were also rumors he was mobbed up.) I don’t believe he was truly interested in pursuing Trump and opening that can of worms just prior to waltzing off into the sunset. In response to pressure, he put on a good show, though.

I watched a couple of Mark Pommetantz’s interviews and am getting ready to read his book. It seemed that there were many more serious crimes Trump committed than just a misdemeanor for the Daniels payoff. Something was missing and I haven’t completely put it together, yet.

Alvin Bragg, no doubt, has a different perspective on holding Trump accountable, given his background. Interesting days ahead, to be sure.

Bragg is a better person than I am if he isn't getting ticked over this nonsense.

"Unprecedented inquiry"...LMFAO. This coming from the party that hunted Bill Clinton to the ends of the earth, and eventually impeached him over an extramarital affair. And, coming from a guy who looked the other way while his buddy sexually assaulted college wrestlers, along with another who has been accused of beating his ex-girlfriend. Go fuck yourselves, Jackass McNoJacket, Domestic Abuser Comer, and Shitstain from Wisconsin.

From subpoenaing Jim, for interfering with an investigation? Jim gives the appearance of knowing something about the case that Bragg does not know, so he needs to get Jim under oath and find out..

That sword cuts both ways, but Bragg has the sharp side.

He's got bigger fish to fry. Gymsuit is but plankton in the middle of a big ocean at the moment and so far, no subpoena has actually been issued by that GOP gasbag. So there's nothing to take action against other than ridicule what is a lot of nonsensical gobbledygook.

It is not normal, because it is not needed.

What is normal is for the DA / prosecutor to invite the target to speak to the grand jury. Bragg did this. That is how the rump knew he was in imminent danger of being indicted. He just guessed at "Tuesday" as the day and threw a bunch of shiny objects in Bragg's way, which is why there has been no indictment of the rump yet. Not Bragg's fault. It's his job to nail down any known reasons why a target MIGHT be exculpated.

It is not an issue. Either the shiny objects are exculpatory or they are not; I have to leave it in Bragg's hands to sort it out. Regardless, the rump will run out of shiny objects, and then we will know one way or the other.

Tell them to fuck off!

Tell them you'll respond to a Congressional subpoena the same way Jordan did.

Seriously, did Jordan and Comer really think Mr. Bragg would show up with the evidence he's gathered? Or are they just grandstanding?

Can we ban posts of this sort? It is nothing more than a promotion for the app.

They throw up a plug for their app that you have to close before you can read the content you went there to read. It's HIGHLY annoying and one of my pet peeves, but it doesn't mean the link was meant as a plug for the app. It's the site itself being a pita.

Apparently they are already having meetings about when Trump wins in 2024 they are immediately going to repurpose the entire civil rights division of the DOJ away from protecting the civil rights of wronged citizens, and instead use it to prosecute all the prosecutors, investigators, and accusers of Trump's own crimes, because they have all violated his civil rights because he's totally innocent. Pure fascism.

After the two lawyers resigned out frustration when Bragg decided not to pursue well established criminal acts to charge, that Vance had dragged his feet on also he lost all credibility imo.

DA Alvin Bragg’s staffer hangs up on ‘bulls–t’ congressional phone call

Rude reps for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg told a House Judiciary staffer to “stop calling us with this bulls–t” after he made multiple attempts to get in touch by phone.

The Judiciary Committee staffer who called Bragg’s office at noon on Wednesday was promptly hung up on after he identified himself to a woman who answered the phone, a person familiar with the call told The Post.

When the staffer called back a second time and identified himself, a second woman bluntly told him, “Your committee has no jurisdiction over us. You’re wrong. Stop calling us with this bulls—t,” the insider said....
