Judge Katherine Menendez strikes down Minnesota's under-21 handgun carry ban

BREAKING: Worth v. Harrington (D. MN): Judge strikes down Minnesota's under-21 carry ban, saying the state failed to show that it "is consistent with the nation’s history and tradition of firearm regulations as required by Bruen." https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mnd.194951/gov.uscourts.mnd.194951.84.0.pdf

Essentially no gun law can stand up to the scrutiny test that Thomas wrote in Bruen. He intentionally gave the gun loving right a tool kit to tear it all down.

Bingo. This will directly result in more pointless testosterone shootings.

Part and parcel of a decades-long legal effort to undo every firearm restriction in every state, county, or city in the nation. It's been successful in almost every instance, too.

How anyone thinks we're anywhere close to overturning the 2nd Amendment or banning Semi-Automatics boggles my brain. We're still going in the opposite direction.

Developed nations create more regs if not outright bans.

Not America. Not really a developed nation with republicans at any level of government.

4. The homicide rate for black males in Detroit and Chicago

Is at war zone levels and has been that way for a long time.

"Detroit grapples with 'devastating' impact of black male homicides"

"In Detroit, of 312 homicide victims in 2016, 279 were African American; 246 of those black victims -- 88 percent -- were male, according to figures from the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office. While Detroit’s rate of black male homicide is high -- 97 per 100,000 -- it trails that of Chicago, where the rate is 120 per 100,000. "

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/detroit-city/2018/10/21/detroit-dealing-devastating-impact-black-male-homicides/808535002/

The homicide rate for the US overall is 7.8.

"Black males remained twice as likely to be the victim of a gun related death compared with white males."

https://www.statista.com/statistics/251877/murder-victims-in-the-us-by-race-ethnicity-and-gender/

People don't seem to care too much when it's black males getting gunned down. But people pay attention when the victims are white.

Doubtful she was paid off. She's just following SCOTUS precedent. Her hands are pretty tied up on this.

Her hands are tied.

Judge Ho in the 5th Circuit bitched, nagged, and complained all throughout his concurring opinion on abortion rights, but he upheld SCOTUS precedent when Roe and Casey were still good law despite his disgust with having to write it.

That rather than just following the current interpretation of the law, distasteful as it may be, she must be a right wing gun fetishist on the payroll of gun companies.

To ignore SCOTUS rulings and instead hand down a decision you prefer? That isn't how our system works. A higher court would overturn such a ruling and the judge would soon be looking for a job if they do that as a habit.

The Legislature however is advancing universal background checks and a red flag bill.
