Can you share your direct experience of his governance?

He seemed almost too good to be true!

I don't know what you mean by direct experience. Things are not perfect here, of course, but I like his stance on LGBTQ matters, gun laws, education, and many other things. I just think he really cares about the people who live here. These days, you're ahead of the game if your governor is not a vindictive madman who wants to harm everyone just to be a tough guy.

It reminds me of a story I heard. When FDR died his funeral train was transporting his body to it's burial site. A man was seen standing by the railroad tracks for hours so that he could pay his respects as the train passed by. Another man wondered why he was so dedicated to that. He asked the man "Did you know FDR?" The man replied "No, but he knew me."

I was just asking what life is like there under his policies.

Is he genuine? Does he get stuff done? Or is he just a "show pony"?

He gets stuff done to the point where judges sometimes over-rule his actions. That tells me he is putting out a lot of effort. He's not all talk and no action. I also think it's important that he served as Lt. Governor for two terms under Jerry Brown. If he's okay with Governor Brown, he's okay with me.

As far as what life is like here, I live in a small town in Northern California, and like it very much. I lived in Silicon Valley for 30 years, basically growing up there then decided it was just to crowded, too much traffic and the cost of living was very high. Like all big cities, ours have their problems. I wouldn't live in a big city anywhere. I'm 69 years old and like the peace and quiet. And in California, as long as Democrats are running the show, I don't have to worry about going shopping and seeing people with AR-15s strapped to their backs.

He ate at a nice restaurant during the pandemic, though, so he can never be President.
