Mass casualty incident at Louisville bank building after active shooter opens fire: Six victims including police officer

Six victims have been reported, including at least one police officer, in a shooting outside the Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky.
Metro police have advised the public to avoid the area of the 300 block of East Main Street in the downtown area of the city, as Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear arrives on the scene.
Dispatchers heard on police scanners have indicated that the shooting occurred on the first floor of the building, in front of Louisville Slugger Stadium located just hours from Nashville, where a gunman recently opened fire at a Christian school and killed six people.

An additional six people have been injured and taken to local hospitals, including a police officer.
Members of the public have been asked to stay away from a part of East Main.
Video from the area appears to show heavily armed police cordoning off a commercial property in the area.
In a brief news conference, Louisville Police said that police responding to the report encountered active gunfire.
The shooter is dead. It is unclear what led to his death.
News footage from the scene shows a heavy police presence, with damaged glass and discarded medical equipment at one location.

Good guys with guns can be ambushed and killed like anyone else. I reckon the GOP response will be: the bank only had 2 armed cops? They should have had 4, or 6, or 20.
Guns are destroying this society.

(146,338 posts)but not a cop. If there were a couple of police officers in every bank branch, there would be none out on the street. In fact, they'd have to hire many, many new police officers.
I'm sure you have been in a bank. Did you see any police officers there?
