We have for you the final round of our lovely selection of photographs submitted by members of our illustrious forum depicting the fascinating world of macro photography and now it is time for the winner to be chosen by you, the voting members of the GD forum!

Macro photography are photographs of small items larger than life size, by the way.

Voting shall remain open for 72 hours, the conclusion of which will culminate in the crowning and honoring of a new photography contest champion!

The others were just too easy in comparison. Takes some guile to get that close up to an anole, and then it's a stunningly beautiful creature.

Full disclosure: it's not my photo, and I don't know the person who took it.

It's a travesty that the rose is in first place at the moment. It's an easy photo and quite frankly a bit boring. Sorry, photographer.

Get real, folks.

longer in question. It has passed the highest and most critical standards in the eye of the one who made it. What is in question is the taste of the viewer.

As my mother, and probably yours as well, said if you can't say something nice . . .

The rose photo is mundane, truly. I'm certain that I've seen hundreds and hundreds of such photos. And I'm also sure that whoever took the photo is a great person, but I'm new to this: is the purpose of these threads just to heap praise or move along? Since it's a CONTEST I think that discussions of relative merits is quite fair.
