:facepalm It appears this is another case of projection. The pukes are always complaining about the "deep state" and how unelected bureaucrats are writing the laws while we're still dealing with the boosh1 administration.

(16,435 posts)They want to get paid, so they can pay their own bills and stay in business. I don't see anything wrong with that.
I think it would be a bit much to expect a private school (or a business of any kind really) to question the source of every sum remitted to them. In the case of the school, if they even noticed who the tuition payments came from, what are they supposed to do about it? Monitoring who pays a Supreme Court Justice's bills is not their job or their responsibility.

(22,144 posts)mock their decisions etc., and some of the Justices make fun or ridicule Americans because of this, they think it's ridiculous and outrageous that Americans would do this (even though it's our 1st Amendment right to criticize).
And now when you see how the Justices mock ethics in outlandish ways such as taking payments for schooling and their wives, that no other jurist would do because of the ethics that govern their behavior, it reeks to the heavens of corruption and stink.

(5,906 posts)Roberts is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Corruption. Thomas and Gorsuch, and possibly others, appear to be his acolytes.

(5,906 posts)Someone on a Government salary gets rich. I'm a senior rank and file employee at an Executive Branch department (a funny shaped building on the Potomac) and I'm required to take ethics training and to file a financial disclosure every year. If I had something like this I'd lose my job, at the very least. At worst I'd be prosecuted and probably sent to prison. The scare tales work. But it's different spanks for different ranks, as we used to say in the Army.

(119 posts)Comey Barrett didn't have to be paid to be a Christofascist, she was raised that way and is an active member. Of course, the dirt is probably there, but she hasn;t been around long. Handmaiden is very suspect too.

(240 posts)You're in for life. Quite cushy job too. Work 9 months of the year, with the whole summer off. They have a staff law of clerks to do all the "lawyering" and only really work during oral arguments. All for 285K plus all the side hustles you can run and no one will care, because you are above the law, because you are the law. Sweet deal for them indeed.

(3 posts)They may be some corruption amongst them but since they say they're not corrupt and insist they're totally ethical I'm torn. How long before they do something that's enough to have them removed?

(9,025 posts)You are "beginning" to have some doubts about SCOTUS? That party started quite a while ago, friend.
There "may" be some corruption? How much do you need to see?
Would you call an alligator a lizard?
Would you expect someone who is corrupt to insist that they are corrupt? No, they will insist they are ethical.
There has already been enough evidence to remove Thomas, but it won't happen as long as Republicans continue to defend him, and that is unlikely to change unless we learn of Thomas molesting elected Republican's children. Maybe not even then.
Seems like you might have forgotten, or perhaps are not yet aware of, the sarcasm smiley?

Ginni and Clarence Thomas have corrupted and degraded the Supreme Court and, in their silence, make clear their arrogant indifference and disdain toward all those who question them.
Thank you!

She's not ginni. She's a conniving, opportunistic criminal.

(But don't make it Bud Light. Jesus don't like him no Bud Light. Bud Light supports the idea that some people don't like the way Jesus made them and want to change how Jesus made them. --- very ungrateful on their part. After all Jesus does for them.)

(93 posts)Love that these MAGAt fuckers in power are oh still on the Supreme Court, in Congress, and running for President while we just fuck around and are supposed to celebrate the "justice" of peons getting little sentences. I have no faith left in our justice system, our government or this country anymore as it just continues to circle the damn toilet bowl like a rotting turd. Regret not moving to Canada when I had the perfect opportunity.
