(86,660 posts)But mushroom season is coming between now and then so I will be out getting my exercise before I am glued to the laptop watching live hearings and press conferences and stuff. Of course, by then it will be too hot to be outside anyway and I'll be hiding in the AC chilled indoors.
I'll be ready.

(4,741 posts)And bring in a conviction faster. You seem to know that it can be done. So show us how it works.
Come on. What's holding you back?
Oh. Right. Reality.
You don't know what it takes to put together a prosecution case, so what the bloody F do you know about the timetable it would require.
Ms Willis isn't exactly dealing only with this case, you know. She has other matters on her plate--serious crimes like murder. Is she supposed to drop all that to coddle only what diddums wants?
Stop being so silly and selfish, and let the woman do the job she knows more about than you ever will.

(70,524 posts)At least eight of the Republican fake electors in Georgia have accepted immunity deals in an ongoing criminal investigation into efforts by Donald Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 election there, according to a new court filing.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis had previously notified all 16 GOP fake electors in Georgia that they were targets in her investigation. Last month, Willis offered immunity deals to several of the Republicans who served as pro-Trump electors and they accepted, according to the filing.
The newly secured cooperators could offer insights into a key prong of Williss sprawling investigation into election interference: the attempts to put forward alternate slates of electors to block the certification of the 2020 presidential vote and the role Trumps allies played in organizing the effort.

(73,567 posts)I've seen reports that they were "granted" immunity and others saying they "accepted" immunity. I haven't seen any reports on if it is a limited immunity, or otherwise. The "granted" could indicate the DA is forcing their hand to testify fully. They have zero choice but to accept it. But "accepted" immunity -- which I will speculate is likely -- means that they know they were at high risk of indictment, feel betrayed (no matter if they were or not), and have been told by their attorney they would indeed be indicted if they don't cop a deal. In such a case, the DA would almost certainly required a proffer, to make sure the slime has something of value.
