1. Taking salary from shady company that no one knows where funds came from..
2. Dipping into campaign funds from personal expenses which is illegal
3. Taking unemployment which is illegal due to 1. And 2 above

All at the same time.

“ At the height of the pandemic in 2020, George Santos allegedly applied for and received unemployment benefits while he was employed and running for Congress,” stated District Attorney Donnelly. “As charged in the indictment, the defendant’s alleged behavior continued during his second run for Congress when he pocketed campaign contributions and used that money to pay down personal debts and buy designer clothing. This indictment is the result of a lengthy collaboration between law enforcement agencies, and I thank our partners at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their dedication to rooting out public corruption.”

7. My problem with all of this is, he would have gotten away with it if he didn't get elected.

Like TFG, if they didn't get elected, no one would have dig into these problems. We need to revamp our campaign finance system so these people don't use it to make money off it.

I guess the lure of campaign money was too much to resist.

Like TFG, he somehow won and couldn't get through the scrutiny coming along with the job and they got into trouble with the law. We need to revamp the campaign finance law so it doesn't attract these people trying to make money off it.
