“Donald Trump’s comments Wednesday night about his handling of classified documents appeared to contradict statements by his lawyers, and provide potentially important evidence for federal prosecutors investigating whether to charge him with a crime,” NBC News reports.

Said former U.S. attorney John Fishwick: “Trump’s comments hurt him, and what he said is significant. Not only do they contradict his legal position, he admits to possession and knowledge of classified documents that he is taking from the White House. Jack Smith will make good use of last night’s town hall and it will help him button up his case.”

The idea that the bullshit he spews in front of an audience/cameras -- that he's trying to manipulate for political purposes -- will be viewed by a jury as any true confession of his actions/motives... That's utter fucking nonsense.

EVERY jury in America will grant the premise that politicians lie their fucking asses off all of the damn time when in front of an audience.

If you want to see TFG hoisted by his own petard, the clips/quotes/words you need are those he spoke behind closed doors. The shit in front of a camera gets a fucking pass, right or wrong.

You could not be more wrong.

Two words and people who know this case will understand why: Robert Durst.

Politicians and public figures like durst are not given a pass when they go on record about their crimes.

I could name at least 2 others who were public figures and who verbalized their crimes. They, too, were convicted and are now in prison.

A good number of lawyers and prosecutors watched the CNN town hall because TFG is too stupid to not make admissions against interest and/or out right confessions. TFG did not disappoint

Former President Donald Trump’s comments Wednesday night about his handling of classified documents appeared to contradict statements by his lawyers, and provide potentially important evidence for federal prosecutors investigating whether to charge him with a crime, legal experts say.

Trump’s lawyers told Congress last month that the classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago compound got there by accident. But when questioned about the issue at a CNN town hall, Trump said he had “every right” to take them from the White House.

“I didn’t make a secret of it,” he said. “You know, the boxes were stationed outside the White House, people were taking pictures of it.”....

“Trump’s comments hurt him, and what he said is significant,” said John Fishwick, a former U.S. attorney for the Western District of Virginia who was appointed during the Obama administration.

“Not only do they contradict his legal position, he admits to possession and knowledge of classified documents that he is taking from the White House. Jack Smith will make good use of last night’s town hall and it will help him button up his case.”
