In many states police would confiscate all belongings and maybe even the house if someone were suspected of dealing weed. Asset forfeiture. They especially like to steal, er, forfeit, cash. I've seen several studies showing that asset forfeiture by police took more property than all the burglaries for that year.
BUT!
If the perp is a white supremacist committing felonious acts of espionage, not so much.
from WaPo:
By the time of his arrest, filings by federal prosecutors show that Teixeira had amassed a small arsenal of rifles, shotguns and pistols, as well as a helmet, gas mask and night-vision goggles, all under the roof of the house where he lived with his mother and stepfather. The Post obtained and verified two videos taken at their home in Dighton, Mass., where the FBI arrested Teixeira last month. [bold mine]
Jews scam, n----rs rape, and I mag dump. Teixeira raised his weapon, aimed at an unseen target and fired 10 times in rapid succession, emptying the magazine of bullets.

Recently a Al-Qaeda sympathizer moved nearby my area, immigrant and were finding more about their organization, he wrote in October 2022, apparently referring to the U.S. government. Any sand n----r like that we will watch them[.]
...
Filmed from the shooters perspective, the first video shows a person identified by a Discord user as Teixeira firing an AR-style weapon into the forest. Another video shows the gunman firing a pistol into the woods behind Teixeiras home, including two rapid volleys that suggest the weapon may have been modified. It isnt clear what legal or illegal modifications Teixeira may have made, though devices like binary triggers and typically illegal auto sear accessories can make semiautomatic guns fire quicker than they are designed to shoot. A separate photograph shows an AK-style weapon resting on a table outside the family home next to a helmet with attached night-vision goggles.

Not like he tried to hide that stuff, eh? Evidence shows that house to be the scene of alleged multiple felonies, let alone the violent white-supremacist stuff.
Shooting automatic fire from that household into "the woods", whoever's property that might be. Sounds like a felony to me. Why didn't they seize the house and everything in it? Sounds like perfect asset forfeiture material, assets used in the commission of the alleged crimes of espionage and weapons violations.
Two guesses. No, one guess.

And no, police in "many states" do not seize houses which the defendant does not own.

(2,910 posts)3. Hmm. But the crimes were committed there,
using the house internet connection, for one thing.

should the police seize the library?
