Photo gallery: Veto rally draws big crowds as NC's governor vows to fight Republican-backed abortion

Thousands gathered on Raleigh’s Bicentennial Mall Saturday cheering as Gov. Roy Cooper made good on his promise to veto Senate Bill 20, the restrictive abortion ban rushed through the Republican-controlled legislature with little public input and zero amendments. The governor will need at least one Republican to rethink their position in order to sustain his veto. The bill does not have the backing of the NC Medical Society. Read full coverage of the rally and the controversial legislation by NC Newsline reporter Lynn Bonner.

She has to be extremely ashamed of whatever it is.

These hideous government overreach bills are being rammed through all over the place with no discussion and absolutely no public input, especially from women and doctors.

Since they're all pretty much alike, I sincerely hope someone out there is tracking down the author. I want him exposed and pilloried and sued for the deaths of women who couldn't get treatment for pregnancies that went wrong.

That turncoat has ended her political career. The good news is that because it passed with her crooked vote, it won't be passed over Cooper's veto.

Her mother is a long time Democratic member of the either the city council or the county commission in Charlotte, I can't remember which one. Charlotte is my tv media market, but I live more than an hour n/nw of it in a rural area.
NC doesn't allow for recall elections, so her constituents are screwed for now.

Well, I sincerely hope she's fucked herself out of office in more than one way. Obviously she can't be trusted.

Their legislators.
Mail, email, the electronic media they use. Hourly and tell them not to override the veto.
Tell their funders they will boycott and not vote for these wipes.
I don't think standing in a square means anything to these misogynistic GOP.

It’s great but the problem us gerrymandered NC along with their recent court victory means all the Democrats are in a couple areas only. The minority has turned into the majority in their state legislature. RepubQcan corruption on display.
