Jeff Tiedrich tweet about the debt:

how fucked up is this: Donald Trump's tax cuts for the obscenely wealthy are responsible for a QUARTER OF OUR NATION'S ENTIRE DEBT and Republicans want to cut YOUR social security to pay for it, and that's what this debt ceiling bullshit is all about. fucking unacceptable

Cutting Social Security to Lower Debt?

Proposing to cut social security to reduce national debt is an unfair and unacceptable solution. With a significant portion of the debt stemming from tax breaks for the wealthy, burdening vulnerable citizens is unjust and counterproductive.

Tax breaks for the wealthy have worsened income inequality and created a fiscal gap. Cutting social security directly affects retirees, disabled individuals, and those relying on it as their main income source.

Addressing the debt should focus on promoting growth, increasing revenue, and ensuring a fair tax burden. Close loopholes for the rich and make them pay more.

Cutting social security to reduce debt is unjust. We need fair and comprehensive solutions that prioritize growth, fairness, and shared responsibility to uphold social welfare principles.

companies will see lower sales figures.
The companies will then compensate by firing workers who will themselves suddenly have less money at which point it will then create a self-perpetuating feedback loop.

How come corporations haven't figured out that having a Democratic Government and economy is better for their bottom line?

The facts are very clear. Yet they continue to donate to the Rethugs.

It's one of life's Conundrums.

but rather the long term and in the long term its worth it to them to force people into poverty.
Why?
Because as people are forced into it they end up selling their property at below market value to try and survive and or to care for a loved one.
Then as they are forced into a lower economic bracket it also causes them to lose what minor clout they might have politically.
Finally it makes them ripe picking as the people that forced them into a lower economic bracket will support their own hand picked candidates and use their power and ownership of the media to manipulate the public into voting for the hand picked candidates.
More than likely with campaigns built around blaming the "other" as at fault for the economic problems people are having which were in fact caused by the ultra wealthy that own the corporations.

President Biden, for one, has brought it up multiple times in recent speeches. Others have been vocal as well, including Hakeem Jeffries and AOC.

The House Dems super PAC is also prepping ad buys to hammer the GOP on them in reference to their debt bill.

Me neither.

It would have been sweet to have that money available when the COVID pandemic started. But at least the wealthy got to fly off to exotic vacation homes while normal Americans were struggling to get groceries and masks and basic necessities of life.

What did we get for those massive tax cuts? Not much, if anything. What did a bunch of people with more money than they can spend in 10 lifetimes get? Enough that they couldn't spend it in 20 lifetimes.

What do we get for Democratic bills? Upgraded roads, state of the art schools, debt relief for students. And more.

Same for Medicare, VA, etc., if they take power again they will steal everything that isn't nailed down. Just like Putin and his friends did to the Russia.
