No judgments... just thought this was interesting in light of recent events.

(305,823 posts)can be smarter than young people just depends on the person.
Some people take better care of themselves, too.. and better genes.

(20,075 posts)Experience does come with age and Id love to know that when these young people come on board, they have a mentor. Im thinking especially of the freshman rep from Florida who had to start by couch surfing just to be able to start work! Im hoping behind the scenes, hes learning from our best.

(1,217 posts)I've argued this innumerable times on Reddit (and been roundly downvoted for my views), but this is really the truth.
Compare the last interview with Feinstein (#1 on the list), in which she claimed that she had recently been present in the Senate (spoiler: she hadn't been), to this recent speech by Sanders (#3 on the list):

There is no comparison.
I'd venture to say that Sanders is sharper than many/most people on here; with all due respect, Feinstein is very close to seeming like the titular character in Weekend at Bernie's.

(34,506 posts)She's nowhere near the oldest but she's nearly twice my age and has way more stamina than I do. I attended her rally and was so exhausted afterwards, but I couldn't leave because I wanted to meet her. She wasn't there just shaking hands like a zombie. She was actually interacting, friendly and present. I'm much shorter than she is but she even deciphered the cryptic impeach t-shirt that I was wearing (it just had three letter M's and a peach graphic). She promised she was working on it and would get it done. 🤣 Mind you, this was after a long day of traveling and campaigning and a rally.
