MI: City candidates in Howell and Brighton vying for votes in November

n November, voters in two Livingston County cities will elect city leaders. Seats on Brighton and Howell city councils are up for grabs, and there's a contested mayoral race in Howell.

The deadline for city candidates to declare their run in the Nov. 7 election has passed. Voters in Brighton and Howell can start making their choices.

All city positions are nonpartisan.

Voters in Brighton will also decide on a police tax proposal, which — as of Friday — was the only ballot proposal listed on the county election's website. The deadline for ballot proposals is 4 p.m. Aug. 15.
