The top two campaign officials for longshot Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson resigned over the weekend.
Jason Call, the campaigns deputy manager, told POLITICO on Monday that he left Williamsons team on Friday. That came after campaign manager Peter Daou announced last Saturday on Twitter that he was leaving the campaign after much consideration, about one month into the job.
A Williamson campaign staffer confirmed to POLITICO that Daou and Call left the campaign, but said it was a mutually agreed-upon decision after Williamsons campaign leaned into a more progressive direction.
The campaign is just moving in a different direction, a Williamson campaign staffer granted anonymity to discuss campaign dynamics told POLITICO. The staffer elaborated that Daou comes from a background of what you would call traditional Democratic politics, and Marianne is looking for something a bit more innovative.

After much consideration, I've decided to leave Marianne Williamson's presidential campaign, where I was campaign manager.
Claiming Daou is a traditional Democrat given his vitriolic turning on Clinton is absurd.
Additionally heres a newer tweet from Daou indicating what he wants to do.

My mission is to help make that happen.
In 2020, I voted Green because I oppose the duopoly.
Bidens presidency is the ultimate confirmation that the system is rigged to perpetuate the oppressive status quo.
A "dirty break" is one way to do it. But there are more direct approaches.
My guess is he didnt believe Williamson couldnt help him reach his shitty goals and/or the rumors of her being a toxic boss are true.
As an aside, Karmas gonna catch up to Mr. Daou. Hes toxic.

(297,314 posts)Are those his "details to follow"?
And, as I posted.. Daou supported Sanders in 2020... so he was NOT a "traditional Dem" as the MW campaign put it.
So not buying what they're trying to sell, either.
TY.

(57,104 posts)... in reality it was one just more vote for the Orange Shitgibbon in his case.
Our election system is still mostly a winner take all contest. Change the election laws regarding run offs for elections that do not generate 51% or better winner with a 'non of the above option'. Then play around with the duopoly.
Most Greens I run into are pretty RW/Libertarian. I'll vote Green when that changes, maybe. Right now I want Green Democrats who naturally bias left.

Multiple parties make sense in forming coalitions.

(58,785 posts)It's worth remembering that people like Daou are a type, especially common among the more radical fringe, unable to keep from quarreling with people they need as allies, causing trouble for whoever hires them, and generally soiling their own nests. When they're talented, as he was, they may manage to be hired by high-level campaigns, like Hillary's, before revealing their flip side and beginning the self destructing spiral.
Down, down, down...

(58,785 posts)"ran" before the presidential race kicked off, then withdrew in January 2020 when serious candidates were about to become active and the press got busy covering them.
(That was the year Joe Biden delayed deciding he'd be one of them until April 25, so nearly 5 months of press covering race horses stomping at the starting line.)
In any case, if she plans the same again, staffing her activities might give poli sci and IT newbies some good experience.
