"The debt limit has nothing to do with the future budget proposals"

"In fact, they have nothing to do with each other."
I would love to see the responsible media begin with a very precise explanation of that difference.
It would shorten the argument that I am having with my bar tender over my tab, that is due today, over my tab that will start tomorrow.

I’m sick of the media talking about “spending” they must use the word 10 times in every story, it’s a Republican talking point. Everyone thinks it’s virtuous to cut spending. To stop government services is another thing. That’s how they should be framing it

that they aren’t related. Future budget proposals most definitely affect the annual deficit, which affects rhe national debt, which affects how soon the debt limit will need to be raised again.

and you're talking about limiting future spending to prevent deficit spending.

This is the game of the radical conservatives... Dick Cheney said deficits simply don't matter... but his successors seem to think that deficits produced during dem administrations are country killers.

This whole fiasco of 'debating' and 'compromising' is a terrible farce. The R's have no intention on compromise and Biden is actually saying the deficit must be lowered.

So, many vets will say good-bye to VA benefits as they are 'compromised' away.
Sick poor people will have medicaid cut out from underneath them

70 year olds will be expected to find work so they can 'earn' access to something they've been paying for others to have for their entire lives. And made all the more confounding when age-discrimination makes it near impossible for a 50 year old to get a decent job.

I hate this country, and the f***ed up game we deem to call "politics".
