Gov. Ron DeSantis said he would be welcoming of a measure from Congress to defund the Internal Revenue Service if hes elected president next year, Fox News reports.
Said DeSantis: I think the IRS is a corrupt organization and I think its not a friend to the average citizen or taxpayer. We need something totally different.

(50,562 posts)So far, every Republican presidential candidate wants to ban abortion nationwide, cut taxes, either defund or eliminate the IRS, cut taxes, get rid of LGBTQ+, cut taxes, finish Trump's Wall and name it after him, cut taxes, make Christianity the mandatory religion of the US, cut taxes, get rid of porn, cut taxes, throw Hunter Biden in prison, cut taxes, try to destroy the Democratic Party, cut taxes, add to our inventory of extremist judges, cut taxes and...oh, I know I'm missing something...oh yeah, cut taxes! Except that one of them is staring down criminal prosecution in at least three jurisdictions and one of them wears dresses to work, is there any difference between them?

(36,874 posts)Those millions of republicans want an authoritarian gov't but they mistakenly think they will be the few thousand elites actually in charge.
Those millions are useful tools for those who will actually be in charge.
One poster called it a 'new social feudalism age'.
