DeSantis-appointee Michael Sasso resigns from Disney World oversight board

https://news.yahoo.com/michael-sasso-resigns-disney-world-150600318.html

Michael Sasso, a Central Florida attorney, has resigned from Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Disney World governing board he joined earlier this year.

Sasso was one of five members of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District’s Board of Supervisors, the governor-appointed board at the center of DeSantis’ dispute with Disney.

Sasso has not publicly given a reason for his resignation. On Tuesday, DeSantis elevated his wife, Meredith Sasso, to the Florida Supreme Court. She was the chief judge of the Sixth District Circuit Court of Appeal.

Spectrum News 13 first reported Sasso’s resignation on Friday night.

Sasso and the governor’s office did not immediately respond Saturday to requests for comment.

The tourism district has a lawsuit against Disney pending in state court that could potentially reach the state’s highest court.

Disney should place their whole park in maintenance mode, only selling tickets to in-resort stays. TheBlackAdder May 2023 #9

Sasso probably didn't sign up to go down in flames with DeStunted.

Avoidance of conflict also sounds quite probable.

.

Disney will get their full room money, however, less in admission, food and concessions.

They could boost the price a bit on the room rates and other amenities due to limited availability.

The park would be less crowded, like it is in the Spring, before Summer season hits.

They would have less waste, require less staff and it would be more enjoyable.

In-State and commuters would suffer, including anyone staying in off-park lodging and eating off-park.
Less people would bring their own food in from the local Walmart and supermarkets too, helping to offset food sales.

This would essentially shut off Florida from the park and income from being near the park.
Florida residents can visit the park if they rent a room in the park.

Disney could also offer TDY relocations to the park by workers at other Disney locales, thereby reducing Florida resident payroll.
